The wood is shiny, with a texture similar to metal after polishing, and the naked eye can see fine cow hair lines, fluorescent in the grain, a slight sandalwood smell, and the material is extremely hard and heavy.

Wood contains pterosandrolin, which is dissolved in alcohol or ether and appears as a red haze (the slower red mist is not pterosandalwood or Indian pterosandalwood).

Huanghuali: The heartwood is reddish-brown, and it turns dark over time. The color of the wood is uneven, often mixed with dark brown stripes. The wood is shiny, oily, and has a rich fragrance; The texture is oblique or staggered, the tube hole is extremely small, and the material is hard and delicate.

Red sour branches: heartwood orange, light reddish-brown, reddish-brown, purple-red, purple-brown to black-brown; The color of the wood is uneven, the dark stripes are obvious, the wood is shiny, with a sour taste or sour fragrance (a few are rose aromas), the texture is oblique or staggered, and the wood is large and easy to deform. The material is hard and heavy, and the strength is high.

Black sour branches: heartwood chestnut-brown with black stripes visible. The wood is shiny, sometimes sour, the pipe holes are small, the grain is not obvious, the material is extremely hard and heavy, and some people often pass it off as red sandalwood, but if you look closely at the purple and rich atmosphere of the black red sandalwood, if someone says that this is a large leaf red sandalwood, don't mistake it for a variant of red sandalwood.

rosewood: heartwood light yellow-brown, orange-brown, reddish-brown, purplish-red to purple-brown; The color of the material is relatively uniform, with dark stripes, and the fluorescence in the tube hole can be seen after grinding. The wood is shiny and has a clear aroma; The texture is staggered, the structure is fine and uniform, and the corrosion resistance and durability are strong.

The material is hard and heavy (some medium). It has high strength (some are medium), usually floats in water, and is mild and not easy to deform. Wood powder or wood chips are often fluorescent.

Wenge wood: heartwood millet brown to black-brown, common black like chicken wings (some leopard) stripes. The luster of the wood is slightly weak, and there is no special smell and taste; The texture is straight or slightly staggered, and the structure is slightly thicker.

Corrosion-resistant and durable. The material is hard and heavy, with high strength, and the wood is very easy to deform.
