If it is only the formation of linear, angular or amorphous cracks on the ceiling paint film, then the problem is not very serious. The cause may be that the brush is too thick or not dry and heavy, the substrate is too loose or rough, the primer and the topcoat are not matched, etc., repair measures: remove the affected paint film; Ensure that the paint film is not too thick at one time; Make sure the front coat is dry before reapplying; Seal the substrate with a suitable primer if necessary; For substrates with high roughness, it is recommended to use products with good flexibility; When the substrate temperature is lower than 5, the latex paint cannot be constructed; The primer and topcoat should be matched.

3. Cracking of the ceiling caused by temperature changes.

If the cracking is caused by temperature changes, it generally appears on the surface and will not affect the safety of the ceiling.

The gap is not large: If the surface gap is not large, then it is recommended to put a layer of kraft paper on the gap and then brush the finishing paint.

Wide gaps: If the surface gaps are wide, then it is best to cut out a piece of drywall first, polish it into a suitable shape, fill in the gap, and then apply the finishing paint.

Fourth, the cracking of the ceiling caused by improper construction.

If the ceiling is cracked due to improper installation and construction of the ceiling frame and gypsum board finish, then when repairing, it should start from checking the keel and dealing with the quality of the base layer before making a finishing article. However, the next step is not to simply use putty to repair the joint, but should open several more plate joints on the plate surface at the keel near the original joint and repair them at the same time, so as to eliminate the deformation under the action of internal stress.
