Laminated timber, finger jointed board, plug in wood, are they solid wood panels?

Laminated timber is glulam timber, which is one of the three main engineering timber products, together with wooden I-beams and laminated veneer lumber. Laminated timber is also solid wood, sometimes called finger joints, which can be painted with wood wax oil to prevent deformation.

Finger-jointed boards belong to solid wood boards, and woodworking boards are wood-based boards. So the finger jointing board has a natural textured feel. It gives a feeling of returning to nature.

Whether the furniture is environmentally friendly mainly depends on the amount of formaldehyde released. E1 grade (formaldehyde emission is less than that of finger jointed board and E1 grade woodworking board.) If the amount of formaldehyde emitted is the same.

That's all the same eco-friendly. However, finger jointing boards use less glue than woodworking boards. It is generally easy to control and environmentally friendly.

There are plywoods on top and bottom (by adhesive pressing) which also produce formaldehyde. There are no splints above and below the finger jointing board, whereas the woodworking board does. With the naked eye, you can distinguish between finger-jointed boards and woodworking boards.

Identification method: look at the core material growth rings: the finger joint plate is mostly fir wood, the growth rings are more obvious, the larger the growth rings, the longer the age of the tree, the better the material.

The finger joint plate is divided into open teeth and dark teeth, and the dark teeth are the best, because the open teeth are more prone to unevenness after painting, and of course, the processing of dark teeth is more difficult. The harder the wood, the better, because it is much less deformed and the pattern is more beautiful.
