Judging from the selling price, stepless dimming is more expensive than segment dimming.

Segmented dimming and stepless dimming have their own advantages and disadvantages:

Segmented dimming is generally done by controlling the number of LEDs that are lit. Divide the LEDs into groups and light one or more groups at a time to dim them, so the light panels must already be grouped. Segmentation can control bulbs, LEDs, and LED color light, but it cannot adjust the color temperature of LEDs.

The segmented tune is to turn off the places that are not used when there are few people, but the section that is often opened is easy to break.

Stepless dimming is achieved by controlling the current of the LED, and there may be only one group, or there may be multiple groups in parallel. Stepless dimming is only suitable for incandescent lamps or LED light sources, and is not suitable for fluorescent lamps and energy-saving light sources, which will cause the light source to flicker when adjusted to low voltage due to the working principle of lighting. Although stepless modulation is the whole is energized, can not focus on a certain place, but the life of the LED will be extended exponentially when working in the case of less than the rated current, the total life is relatively long, and the stepless modulation is not a simple string resistance to reduce the current, so the whole dimming is also more power-saving than when the full brightness, the principle is similar to the previous dimming incandescent lamp.

I feel that the light in the living room is still stepless dimming.
