At present, there are three main types of filling for mid-to-high-end sofas on the market:

The first is a sponge. Among them, there are three types: conventional sponge, which is characterized by good resilience, softness and air permeability; High resilience sponge, characterized by good elasticity, large compression load, good flame resistance and air permeability; Porous sponge, which is a sponge similar to natural seaweed with different sizes of internal pore size, is characterized by good elasticity, excellent cushioning during compression and rebound;

The second type is down. It is generally used in high-end sofas or with sponges. Down sofa is a kind of sofa made of feather pieces (including 5% down) as filling, each kind of sofa and each local feather sheet it is different specifications and different proportions, instead of the traditional local sponge and silk cotton.

It is based on the principle of down sleeping bags to wrap the wooden frame of the sofa, and then put on a cloth jacket on the outside. Compared with cotton sofas, down sofas are comfortable to sit on, deformation is small for long-term use, and the service life is longer than that of general sofas;

The third is rayon. The flexibility of the sofa filling made of rayon is excellent and the sitting comfort is comfortable, but the mechanical properties are poor and the compression load is small, so it is only suitable for cushions.

Flexible polyurethane foam (commonly known as sponge), down and artificial foam. Flexible polyurethane foam, mainly made of conventional polyether + TDI, is characterized by good resilience and softness;

The advantage of down is that it is comfortable to sit and has little deformation after long-term use;

Artificial foam is characterized by a comfortable sitting feel.
