For newer wood furniture, the surface dust should be wiped off with a muslin cloth first, and the stains that have been left for too long or are difficult to remove can be wiped with a cotton cloth dipped in a small amount of gasoline or alcohol. Secondly, use a small piece of cotton cloth to coat a large area with an appropriate amount of varnishing wax, and then use a larger dry cloth to wipe the wax evenly in circumferential blocks to leave no traces as the standard. If the wax is used too much, it will not only leave streaks and markings, which will affect the luster, but also soften the paint layer over time, which is not easy to remove.

Finally, it should be noted that the area where the paint layer has been damaged should be treated before waxing. If the area scorched by cigarettes is limited to the surface of the paint, you can use fine water sandpaper dipped in water and gently grind the stain off, and then apply wax. If the surface is scratched but not deep into the wood, it can be directly polished with polishing wax.

Shoe polishes of similar colors can do the same. For the white circle marks left on the lacquer layer of the hot tea cup, you can dip a small amount of vegetable oil with your hand, sprinkle it on the marks, and rub it with a cloth. If the marks are not removed, soak a cotton cloth in warm water, wring it out, add a few drops of ammonia to rub it, and finally polish it with polishing wax.

Before waxing, the dust on the surface of the wooden furniture should be cleaned and then the furniture should be prepared to wax. If the dust is not cleaned, it will affect the overall effect after waxing, and wax spots or friction will cause scratches. After treating the dust on the surface of the solid wood furniture, wash off the old wax on the surface of the solid wood furniture with a light soapy water, wipe it with clean water and then dry the surface of the furniture with a dry cotton cloth.

When waxing on furniture, be sure to use cotton cloth, apply wax on cotton cloth, the amount of wax should be moderate, if the amount of wax is too much, it will lead to uneven wax application, affecting the gloss of furniture after waxing.
