The loofah is too big a greenhouse, and the balcony is better to plant it elsewhere. Last year, I planted 2 loofahs on the balcony, and when I ate one, I just looked at the leaves, and I watered a lot of water every day. There are also a lot of bitter gourd vines, and the one planted on the balcony last year was blocked by cucumbers and did not bear melons.

It is recommended to plant some cucumbers, it is shade-tolerant, and there will generally be a harvest, and I planted a few last year and ate dozens of them.

Grow bitter gourd in a larger container (old washbasin or foam box) and it will easily bear fruit.

If the balcony is fully enclosed, it does need to be pollinated manually, the method of artificial pollination is very simple, generally at about 8 o'clock in the morning, after the dew is dry, collect fresh and open male flowers, and evenly wipe the pollen on the stigma of the female flowers that open on the same day. >>>More

The light on the enclosed balcony is much worse than on the roof. I also deliberately planted a loofah on the balcony, not to have a melon knot, just as a decoration. But the vine still grows pretty well!
