What kind of board is used to make furniture

There are many boards for furniture, such as solid wood, solid wood particle board, solid wood multi-layer board, MDF, Hexiang board, and what board to use needs to consider their actual situation and budget.

For plate type, if the price allows, it is recommended to use E0 grade MDF, a board with very low formaldehyde content, and the nail holding force is also very strong, which can be said to be environmentally friendly and practical.

At present, the mainstream is paint-free board, and there are Malacca cores and fir cores in the middle of paint-free boards, which can be used. To make furniture, you can buy E0 level paint-free board, which is relatively environmentally friendly.

There are also people who make it with particleboard, but I personally think that particleboard is not as good as paint-free board.

The commonly used boards of furniture are particle board and solid wood board, which is divided into multi-layer solid wood and ecological board, and the ecological board is currently the most environmentally friendly, but if it is a place of common light, or the furniture that needs to bear load, it is necessary to use multi-layer solid wood board, multi-layer solid wood board is currently the hardest, and particle board is not recommended for home use, because particle board is pressed with glue and sawdust.

1.MDF:

MDF is divided into medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and hard-density fiberboard (high-density board), etc., the density is medium-density fiberboard at 450-800 kilogram cubic meters, and the density is hard-fiberboard at more than 800 kilogram cubic meters. MDF is made of plant wood fiber as the main raw material, through hot grinding, paving, hot pressing molding and other processes. However, due to the national standards for high-density boards are several times lower than the international standards, the quality of MDF in China needs to be improved.

2.Plywood:

Commonly known as fine core board in the industry, it is made of three or more layers of 1mm thick veneer or thin plate glue and hot pressing, which is the most commonly used material in handmade furniture. Splints are generally divided into six specifications (1 centi, 1 centi, 1 centi, 18 cents, 1 centi, 1 cm refers to 1mm).

It depends on whether you are making solid wood or board type, if you are making solid wood, you will directly use solid wood for high-end processing, and if you are a little lower, you will use solid wood finger jointing board. If the board type is the best plywood, that is, the ecological board made of woodworking board, and the lower one is the ecological board made of MDF material, which is not very moisture-proof. If you use it yourself, it is recommended to use solid wood finger jointing board.
