Is it good to make an open kitchen? Do you regret it?

When I renovated my home, I had an open kitchen, and I have been using it for more than two years. Now I can't describe it as regret, I can only say that I am very helpless, because the open kitchen has its own advantages, but it also has disadvantages.

My house is small and a bit compact, but fortunately I live by myself. I actually don't like to open the kitchen when decorating, I was going to make a wall, but the designer said that after the wall, the place will be smaller, and dark, there is no feeling of openness at a glance, and then he found me a lot of open kitchen decoration renderings, I think it is really good, I listened to the designer's suggestion, and made an open one.

After the renovation was completed, I was also very satisfied, in the first year, I didn't feel anything wrong, because I also made a breakfast at home a day, sometimes I didn't make breakfast, the home was very clean, many friends said that my kitchen is very beautiful, very warm.

Later, because of the family, I took my mother to my current home, and the house suddenly smelled of fireworks, and it was no longer deserted. But then the problems also appeared, I found that my home was no longer as refreshing as before, and I always felt that there was oil everywhere, and there was the smell of oil and food everywhere.

To be honest, my mother is also very good at housework, and the corners of the house are very clean, but she is also very good at facing such a kitchen. In addition, I guess there is another reason that we are all northerners, and we cook more oily meals, and my mother also loves to make all kinds of pasta, once made fried oil cakes, and the smell of oil smoke at home has been there for two or three days, all of which are really special and helpless, in short, very tired.

Some people say that it is a problem with the range hood, but in fact it is not, so to speak, even if the suction power of your range hood is good, the oil smoke can escape a small part. So if you often cook at home, it's not recommended to make an open kitchen, if your kitchen is just for show, you won't need it for a year, but then you have to think about it, like I should think otherwise, but who can guarantee that you won't use it in the future.

If you rarely cook, or cook mainly Western food, it will not have a great impact on the open kitchen, if you mainly cook Chinese food, the problem of oil smoke will be more serious, or don't do an open kitchen.

I regret it, basically it is not easy to use, because when you are stir-frying, if the range hood is not well chosen, then your oil smoke is difficult to control, affecting the indoor air quality.

I don't think an open kitchen is good, because an open kitchen will inevitably spread the smell of oil smoke to the whole house, and at the same time, the kitchen, dining room, and living room are connected, and there will be no sense of independent space.

1. Do not allow gas.

There are some properties in the community that are: "There is no partition between the open kitchen and living space, gas leaks will quickly spread throughout the space, it is easy to explode in case of sparks, and it is safer to have a door." For this reason, we do not give gas to the owners who have installed open kitchens.

In fact, all you need is an automatic gas shut-off alarm, which is even safer than a closed kitchen, but if the community has this rule, then you can only say goodbye to your favorite open one.

2. The house type is not allowed.

We all know that the load-bearing wall cannot be destroyed and demolished, if the wall connecting your kitchen and living room or balcony is a load-bearing wall, then there is no way to dismantle it to make it open, so the family will honestly do the closed one!

Comments like "Chinese are not suitable for open kitchens at all" are emotional expressions.

Advantages: 1. It can increase the visual sense of space and improve the utilization rate, especially for small apartments.

2. The kitchen is the focus of decoration and can be displayed beautifully.

3. Good interactivity, you can happily communicate with your family while cooking.

4. It will not be hot to cook in summer, and the air conditioner will be cool when it is turned on.

Disadvantages: 1. Oil smoke problem.

If you often stir-fry at home, then no matter how good the range hood is, it can't stop the invasion of oil smoke.

2. Clutter and storage.

The kitchen is a space that is prone to clutter, and if it is made open, it means that you need to have a clear plan for storage and cleaning, otherwise it will bring clutter into the living room.

3. Noise problem.

Some people say that this will affect the people who watch TV in the living room (many people choose the open kitchen in order to be able to communicate with their families, if the people who watch TV at home are afraid of being disturbed, then your home is indeed not suitable for the open).
