Bingxin s living room for our wife

"Our Wife's Living Room" is a novel published by Bingxin in "Ta Kung Pao" in 1933, which was included in "The Complete Works of Bingxin" (8 volumes) published by the Strait Literature and Art Publishing House in 1994.

It is said that this article was written by Bingxin to ridicule Lin Huiyin, and after Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin's family moved to the courtyard house in Zongbu Hutong in Beiping, a group of cultural elites from the Chinese intellectual circles at that time quickly gathered around. These scholars and cultural elites gathered at the Liang family to sit on tea and discuss world affairs. Slowly, the Liang family formed the most famous cultural salon in Beiping in the thirties of the twentieth century, which was called "the living room of the wife".

Bingxin's novel "Our Wife's Living Room" alludes to the Liang family's "wife's living room", Bingxin uses a seemingly gentle and ridiculous tone to tell the story, but in fact it is satirical and criticized. The philosopher Jin Yuelin later said that this novel "also has another meaning, and this other meaning seems to be that the Chinese young grandmothers in the thirties seem to have a problem of 'not knowing the hatred of the country'."

It was indeed written by Bingxin to satirize Lin Hui, Bingxin and Lin Huiyin are an incompatible pair, and it is said that Lin Huiyin later sent a bottle of vinegar to Bingxin to eat.
